Tlenggong: Journal of Regional Cultural Expression and Identity

Tlenggong is a scholarly publication formally administered by Department of Education and Culture of Cilacap Regency (Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Cilacap). This journal serves as a publication platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and community activists focusing their studies on various forms of local cultural expression and identity in Indonesia. The main scope of the Tlenggong journal encompasses the following areas:  

1. Traditional Arts (Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Design)
2. Regional Languages and Literature
3. Folklore
4. Traditional Architecture
5. Traditional Cuisine  
6. Rituals, Ceremonies, and Customs  
7. Traditional Games
8. Social Organizational Systems and Institutions
9. Local Knowledge Systems
10. Cultural Policy

The Tlenggong journal is designed as a strategic platform for the communication and discussion of local cultural knowledge and wisdom through an interdisciplinary approach.  This approach encompasses perspectives from multiple disciplines, including but not restricted to: Anthropology, Sociology, History, Archaeology, Philosophy, Economics, Ethnomusicology, Karawitanology, Musicology, Art Studies, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Education, Linguistics, and other relevant fields.  

All submitted manuscripts will undergo an editorial selection procedure and an objective assessment through a peer review system prior to acceptance and publication. Tlenggong Journal is published twice a year, in June and December.
